Chuyen Xua Tich Cu

Chuyen Xua Tich Cu is an entertainment event hosted by The Association of Vietnamese Students in Queensland. Across the project, I had the opportunity to develop a branding identity for the event, as well as digital marketing collaterals.

The Challenge

"Chuyen Xua Tich Cu" presented the unique challenge of melding Vietnamese folk tales' timeless essence with a contemporary design language. Navigating the delicate balance between honoring cultural heritage and ensuring relevance for a modern audience, the project demanded a nuanced approach.

Inspired by Vietnamese folk tales, Chuyen Xua Tich Cu branding features a lot of iconic visuals from this concept, from the phoenix, old village cottages, to the bamboos. This can be seen across the event’s official logo, social media presence and marketing collaterals.

Early Sketches of Facebook Cover

  • Initial Layout

This is the very early stage where I sketch out what will possibly look like when picturing the concept of Vietnamese folk tales.

  • A More Defined Version

This is where I added characters in just so I could picture how busy the components were. It ended up looking quite balanced on both sides, with mountains in the background.

  • Discovering Different Layout

This is my attempt to involve more details and shift the layout to different corners compared to the very first version. This allowed me to evaluate what worked and what did not.
